Overview
VodafoneZiggo is a leading Dutch telecommunications provider, operating at the heart of the digital society. As an organization that handles vast amounts of connectivity and data, there was a clear drive to accelerate the transition from abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts to functional, high-impact business tools.
The challenge
Even for a telecommunications giant with significant internal expertise, the sheer volume of potential AI applications can be overwhelming. The primary challenge centered on speed and selection. Identifying which ideas would provide the highest Return on Investment (ROI), and which were technically sound, required a structured approach that existing corporate workflows could not always accommodate at pace.
The obstacle
The transition from a promising idea to a working prototype often stalls due to complex compliance requirements and technical uncertainty. For VodafoneZiggo, security was non-negotiable. While the company maintains a sophisticated internal team dedicated to data and AI, implementing Large Language Models (LLMs) across the entire workforce meant overcoming significant hurdles regarding data privacy. Furthermore, traditional “per-user” pricing models for enterprise software often become prohibitively expensive at this scale, creating a financial barrier to widespread innovation.
The solution
Latitude designed and implemented a Generative AI Validation Funnel to streamline the path from ideation to production. This framework operates on a rapid 2-to-3-week cycle, focusing on two critical pillars: business value assessment and technical feasibility. By applying this rigorous filtering process, Latitude ensured that only the most impactful tools moved into development.
Through this funnel, several high-impact solutions were successfully deployed:
Internal HR Chatbot
A streamlined interface that handles employee queries instantly, reducing the administrative load on human resources.
B2B Sales Assistant
A specialized tool for account managers that provides client intelligence summaries, monitors contract renewals, and tracks industry vacancies before a client visit.
Private Enterprise Infrastructure
A bespoke chatbot ecosystem built entirely within VodafoneZiggo’s own secure infrastructure.
This custom infrastructure utilizes a usage-based pricing model rather than a fixed fee per person, making it financially viable for the whole organization. Most importantly, it incorporates custom privacy controls to ensure all data remains within the organization’s secure perimeter.
The results
By combining a rigorous selection process with a secure, scalable infrastructure, VodafoneZiggo has successfully moved from AI experimentation to delivering measurable business value. The organization is now equipped to accelerate innovation without compromising data security or budgetary constraints.
