Working at Latitude Amsterdam
Latitude is a strategic Data & AI consultancy that builds AI solutions for leading Dutch organizations. Our goal is to integrate AI into the core processes, systems, and decisions that define the businesses of our clients.
This means that, in addition to building solutions, we consider how they fit into our clients’ workflows, what the actual business impact is, and how we can achieve measurable ROI. We combine this with classic analytics and data solutions where necessary. We do this for organizations such as NPO, Banijay, Talpa, the City of Amsterdam, Dayes, and Eurocommercial Properties.
We are not a recruitment or “body-shopping” agency. We build real solutions with a product mindset—sustainable for the long term, well-thought-out, and often managed by us. From the right data infrastructure to AI applications in production.

- Fluent in Dutch (written and spoken).
Nice-to-haves

Who is Latitude?
Latitude is a strategic Data & AI consultancy that builds AI solutions for leading Dutch organizations. Our goal is to integrate AI into the core processes, systems, and decisions that define the businesses of our client.
This means that, in addition to building solutions, we consider how they fit into our clients’ workflows, what the actual business impact is, and how we can achieve measurable ROI. Depending on the use case, this involves building RAG knowledge systems, designing agent workflows to automate internal tasks, or developing new AI-driven products.
A few examples of use cases:
- An advanced RAG solution used by 100+ FTE.
- An AI/LLM solution for a daily TV talk show.
- A project for the City of Amsterdam that will reach all residents.
- Marketing impact/ROI analytics for one of the largest Dutch streaming platforms.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior/Staff AI Engineer who thinks about how AI solutions should be built and then actually realizes them together with colleagues. You take ownership from architecture to deployment, while supporting our engineers with technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
Additionally, you will work directly with our business team, using your technical lens to consider how solutions fit into the client’s workflows, what the business value is, and how we can maximize ROI.
This is not a management role. You will remain hands-on in building. However, you are the technical anchor who helps make decisions, ensures quality, and elevates the team to the next level.
- You will primarily work on client projects where you make an impact by:
- Designing and building solutions architecture for complex AI applications.
- Thinking strategically about how solutions add value to the business.
- Providing technical leadership within project teams.
- Collaborating on the best approach for new use cases, with an eye for ROI and feasibility.
- Leading code reviews and architectural discussions with other engineers.
- Taking end-to-end responsibility—from design to production.
What do you bring?
Must-haves:
- 5+ years of experience in MLOps, data engineering, or similar roles.
- At least 1 year of direct hands-on experience with LLMs or GenAI applications.
- Strong Python development skills, especially in frameworks like FastAPI, LangChain, or similar.
- Experience building production-grade LLM pipelines (RAG, embeddings, vector stores, multi-agent systems) and a basic familiarity with agentic AI tools and workflow orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud deployment (Azure preferred, AWS is also good), including containers or serverless services.
- Experience setting up data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Ability to make architectural decisions and explain/defend them.
- Startup mindset: resourceful, curious, iterative, and willing to wear multiple hats.
Fluent in Dutch.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with multimodal AI (vision, audio)—though text-based LLMs are our primary focus.
- MLOps experience: CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, experiment tracking.
- Understanding of LLM behavior evaluation and guardrail implementation.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Previous experience in consultancy or client-facing environments.
What makes you successful?
- You are enthusiastic about LLMs and AI and actively stay up to date with new developments.
- You have a product mindset and think about long-term sustainability and maintainability.
- You can explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and clients.
- You think in terms of business value and ROI—not just “what is technically possible” but “what does this deliver.”
- You understand how technology fits into work processes and can brainstorm impact with stakeholders.
- You enjoy helping other engineers grow and are not afraid to share your knowledge.
- You are pragmatic; you know when something is “good enough” and when further optimization is required.
- There is a strong cultural fit, and you complement our team and way of working.
What does the job look like?
- Working on impactful client projects at industry-leading organizations.
- Technical and strategic leadership—from architecture to business impact.
- Helping shape the technical direction of Latitude.
- Direct collaboration with co-founders, engineers, and clients.
- Hybrid setup: at least 2 days per week at our office in Amsterdam Oost.
- A fast-moving, educational environment with real responsibility and room to grow.
What do you get in return?
- Competitive salary & bonus structure
- 25 vacation days.
- We encourage and facilitate continuous learning—with a budget for conferences, courses, or other relevant development.
- Working with a small, driven team with significant responsibility and growth opportunities.
- The opportunity to grow alongside the technical development of the company.
